Before construction commenced, the client contacted EA. We were able to sit down with the homeowners, the builder, and their electrician and plan for the best system. This is an ideal situation.

Project was a modest sized recreational home, which over time will become a permanent home. The home has a typical configuration of appliances, all purchased with energy efficiency in mind.

Installed System:

  • Dual Outback VFX3524's - 7.0 kW continuous power at 120/240
  • 90 kWh battery bank - 12 x 85T 27 long-life batteries
  • Onan RS12000 generator, auto-start
  • 9 x Sharp 175 PV modules (1.6 kW). Panels were installed on temporary wooden skids. Will eventually be permanently installed as part of an overhanging balcony.
  • MX60 charge controller with 72V transmission allowed us to keep wire sizes manageable.

This system was installed once the building had a roof on it. Temporary power was wired up so that this system is used to provide power for the remainder of the building process.
